KITCHEN

EXPANSION

This family of 6 outgrew their existing kitchen and wanted to utilize the unused dinning room space. Combining the kitchen and dinning room gave the home an open floor plan and improved the flow from the kitchen to the rest of the first floor. The wall separating the kitchen and dinning room was a bearing wall. In order to eliminate a bump down and create a uniform kitchen ceiling, a new support beam had to be recessed into the exiting floor joists. There were many custom pieces crafted for this specific kitchen. Along with the 3 piece crown molding, recessed bookshelf and the hood range above the stove, the island was custom made to support the 600 pound slab of granite.
